To create the handle of the phurba, 72 separate parts were fixed together with point welds on the inside, using a 45° angle iron helping to keep the parts in shape during welding. After ‘stitching’ the octahedrons together, they were welded tightly on the outside and all welds were grinded neatly afterwards.
After all three octahedrons had been welded together, according to the design of the phurba’s haft, they formed a column of over 4 foot in height.
