Ngakpa Dawa Ngödrüp was the sang-yab of Khandro Chö-ying Nyima ’ö-Zér (one of the five adoptive mothers of Aro Yeshé) who would often accompany her husband on herb-gathering expeditions. They often would take Aro Yeshé and the two sisters (A-yé Khandro and A-shé Khandro) with them. They camped together in the high mountain valleys and taught the three children about herbs.
