Khandro Déchen

Khandro Déchen

West Wales – April 1997

Khandro Déchen wears the Aro gTér lineage shawl. The lineage shawl is unusual inasmuch as it reflects the interplay of male and female energies in terms of the solar and lunar channels. The shawl has a left side and a right side, and although the male and female lineage shawls are identical, they are worn by Khandro Déchen and Ngak’chang Rinpoche in reverse directions. The lineage shawl represents a teaching in itself in terms of emptiness & form and the ways in which non-duality is expressed according to the inner and outer male and female realised qualities. The blue central stripe of the shawl is common to the less complex ngak’phang shawls worn within the Aro gTér.
