Yang-lé-shöd 1995

This photograph was taken by Khandro Déchen on the roof of Tsogyel Gé’phel Jong – the Nyingma Retreat Centre in Yang-lé-shöd which was founded by Gyaltsen Rinpoche (on Ngak’chang Rinpoche’s right). Ngak’chang Rinpoche has been friends with Lama Lödrö Rinpoche since 1990 when he travelled to Nepal to visit Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Lödrö Rinpoche (far right) is a ritual master and Umdzé from Mindrol Ling Gompa in Tibet and lives in permanent semi-open retreat. Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen met Khandro Tséring Wangmo (far left) in 1995 when she had recently married Gyaltsen Rinpoche.

This happy occasion is remembered by the Confederate Sanghas of Aro pilgrims as a time of great joy and great mirth. Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen wrote:
The Lamas and practitioner retreatants of Tsogyel Gé’phel Jong are a wonderful example of the lineage of Padmasambhava and Yeshé Tsogyel. They are utterly devoted to their practice and to Kyabjé Künzang Dorje Rinpoche and Jomo Sam’phel. It is one of the greatest honours of our lives to know and be welcomed by such truly marvellous Nyingma yogis and yoginis.
