Shakya Seng-gé (bLa ma sha kya seng ge) is the manifestation who embodies the teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha. This is the perfection of the method of renunciation. Shakya Seng-gé holds the begging bowl of Shakyamuni Buddha, but he also holds the vajra to symbolise the fact that Vajrayana is the natural efflorescence of Sutra. His red monastic robes are lined with blue – representing Dzogchen. Having displayed many aspects of the uninhibited nature of the Vajrayana, Shakya Seng-gé shows that these indestructible performances of enlightenment are united with the compassion of the Mahayana.
