This thangka depicts the environment of gÇod practice – with wild animals, creatures being eviscerated, human body parts, and vultures; plus the implements of gÇod and wrathful practice – the bell and gÇod drum, kangling, and skullbowl, plus various items of vajra weaponry. Such a thangka would be displayed in a monastery where there were gÇodpas, or at a place of gÇod training.
